A Message from Dr Juliette Ross

To all my patients – from those I’ve looked after for decades to those I’ve only recently come to know – this is to let you know that I’ll be retiring at the end of March.

In my 36 years at Wembley Park Drive there has been much change. Many of you will still remember dear Dr Hyman with his friendly, caring demeanour during a consultation (often holding a cigar!) and the hardworking Dr Pereira consulting in that tiny cupboard room without a window. In those early days, we looked out on a jungle garden and if I had no childcare, I used to bring my two little boys in to work. Now they are men of 34 and 37!

Barbara, our manager, used to write the prescriptions by hand. She and our nurse Edith were the cement of the team. Based in number 19 were the health visitors and district nurses with whom we worked hand in hand. Among the many exciting developments was my introduction of computerisation to the practice – taken for granted today, of course.

Wembley Park Drive has been “home” to Arti, our manager. Nhipa and Nisha of our administration team for over 25 years  – always keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes with great skill and commitment.

Dr Sachin Patel continues the leadership of the practice, along with the other doctors in our team, Dr Ishani Patel, Dr Vishal Vala, Dr Krishanthi Liyanage, Dr Rachel Dunbar, Dr Bavini Kavia and Dr Hema Vora are all exceptionally kind, compassionate and thorough. I am indebted to them all.

I’m confident that the whole of our Wembley Park Drive team (our “family” as I have always thought of them) will continue looking after you in the most caring way possible, armed with superb and sophisticated IT and organisational capabilities that we could only dream of in the past.

It has been a true privilege to have been part of your lives, sharing the ups as well as the downs. For some families, I have looked after members of several generations.

Sadly, it will not be possible for me to say goodbye to each of you personally, but please accept my warmest wishes for good health and happiness to you all

 Juliette Ross
